This is also consistent with Google’s goal of providing useful information to information seekers as it has the advantage of being easier to purchase products or receive services from near-by businesses.
From a marketing point of view, you can get the opportunity to achieve the best performance by being exposed at the top of the search results page. Since 95% of smartphones are Android phones and when you search the Internet on Android phones, Google Chrome, the Google browser, is set to Google as the default search portal, so this actually presents a huge marketing opportunity. More importantly, it’s free.
Below is an image captured by Sart Communication, an office equipment business that I run, exposed in the search results when searching for “Infinite Ink Rental”. As shown in the blue square on the right, it is displayed on the right side of the screen larger than the paid keyword search. It is also exposed better than with web page optimization. When searching for a smartphone, it will be positioned above the search results. This is the final version of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
When you search for Xerox, a representative copier company, you can expect the same advertising effect as displayed in the upper right corner. (Of course, Google local search has a limitation of being displayed like this within a certain radius based on the location of the searcher. )
In early August 2015, Googlelauncheda new local search display formatthat could have a major impact on local businesses. This update was not a change to the local search ranking factor, but a change to the way local business information is displayed on search engine results pages (SERPs).
In the past, Google has shown a variety of organic results. In general, 7 regional results (“packs of 7”) were displayed based on location and search query. However, following this recent update, we are currently only seeing 3 local results (“3 packs” or “snack packs“).
Moreover, there is a very attractive advantage of being able to sell products through Google, which will be explained again below.
If you find our post a bit confusing, take a look at the video below. It’s helpful to understand how food service providers use Google’s local information to make it easier to understand.
Google dominates the restaurant market!!! Google Maps | How to respond to My Business (15:02)
This is a video uploaded by someone who is in the business of introducing social media channels necessary for the self-employed. Google Maps explains how self-employed people can be helpful. Google Maps introduces menu recommendations, food delivery, and reservations as recently added functions related to restaurant service, and it is introduced that using these functions well will be of great help to the self-employed.
If I could give you my personal opinion on the important point missing in this video: – Google Maps (map) can achieve results through search engine optimization without advertising – Yelp, OpenTable, Foursquare, etc. are moving to Google Maps because Google is a platform provider that provides online maps – Food delivery is only applicable in English-speaking countries and is not applicable in Korea. The moment this service is launched in Korea, the nation of delivery will be on the same path as Yelp, Open Table, and Foursquare.
The weakness is that only one company can be registered at one lot number, so if there are multiple business sites such as a shopping mall, if another company registers first, registration is not possible. In addition, if multiple companies have already been registered for a search term, there is a weakness in that it is not displayed on the right side of the search results as shown in the image below, but is displayed in the local information as shown in the blue square. Of course, it’s under keyword ads, but being exposed at the top of the search results page is still a strength. In this regard, it is important to place keywords well in your business name.
Google My Business is a free tool that allows businesses and organizations to easily manage their online presence in Google Search and Maps, etc. (In the past, Google’s social service G+ opened a page (corresponding to the homepage) and There were many people who did not know the area (map) information management, and it was difficult to manage the area (map) information. GMB) came out to make it easier to manage, and many functions (menu, product, service detailed registration, etc.) that were not previously in G+ have been added.)
By verifying and editing business information, you can increase customer accessibility and effectively communicate business storytelling. (Note that Local search results on Google are primarily determined by relevance, distance and importance. Google My Business (GMB) serves to improve relevance among these three factors. Just by verifying ownership and filling in GMB, the probability of being exposed in Google local search results is increased by 50%. For this reason, GMB is important.)
Note: Those who used Google Business Local Area informtion or Google+ page dashboard to manage their business information, please use Google My Business (Google+ and Google+ pages) as they are integrated into Google My Business. As of 2019-06-20, the Google+ page is also inaccessible. )
The video below is about My Business provided by Google. It consists of understanding Google My Business (Google’s local information registration service), setting up Google My Business, and setting up additional location information in AdWords. This is a very clearly explained video about the outline, advantages, and setting method, so I hope that local small business owners will watch it and use it for marketing.
By linking with Google My Business in AdWords, location information and map information are additionally provided during Google advertisements to further enhance the advertising effectiveness.
The video above also explains “Setting additional location information for AdWords” in detail, but I’m uploading a video for more detailed explanation. If the above video is not enough, please refer to the video below.

How to register Google My Business and Google Maps? Video (6:19)
I am writing this post based on Google local information from the point of view of search engine optimization (search result exposure). For ordinary people, accessing Google My Business is easy to understand. Also, from this point of view, the video below explains the overview (concept) and scope of use of Google My Business very well. (In this video, the Google My Business dashboard screen shows the Google Plus page dashboard screen, but the Google Plus page dashboard has been changed to Google My Business’s own dashboard. )

Refer to the post below for various ways to verify Google My Business (Google Local Business Information Verification). Basically, there are various methods such as postcards or phone authentication.
If your business information is verified, it will be marked as verified as shown below and you can post posts.
The first benefit you can get when your business information is verified as ownership is that location = business information, which was only exposed in map search, is exposed in organic search.
The easiest way to link Google Maps and My Business is to [claim ownership of the business] on Google Maps.
It is a confirmation by mail received.
If you select [About] in Google My Business, You can see the part where your business is exposed, and if you select one of Google Search, [View in Search], [View on Map][Google+에서 보기], you can see how it is being exposed in the relevant medium. If you haven’t created Google+, you won’t see the view on Google+.
To use our service area, you must be one of the following business types: Whether a business is eligible for a service area is determined by its primary category. Depending on the default category, adding a service area may be a reason for suspended (profile suspension). If you do not have a drop-off or delivery service to a location outside of your business, we do not recommend adding a service area. In addition, Google guidelines warn not to add as a service area if it takes more than 2 hours by car.
Door-to-door service provider: A business that provides door-to-door or delivery services to its customers but not at their business address. Businesses like cleaning services or plumbers. A door-to-door service provider can only create one profile for the metropolitan areas it serves.
Hybrid business: A business that not only serves customers from their business address, but also provides door-to-door or delivery services. Businesses without permanent on-site signage do not qualify as brick-and-mortar stores and must be registered as a door-to-door service provider. An example would be a restaurant that offers in-store dining and also offers food delivery. A hybrid business can display a brick-and-mortar store address, set the business hours for which employees reside at the address, and specify a service area.

Searchers who have viewed the company’s local information are provided with services such as website, phone call, and route request. This is the URL to go to when selecting a website. If you have your own website, please enter it. If not, go to “5. Website” below to create a responsive website provided by GMB and enter this URL.
Web tracking analysis using UTM parameters (codes) is a bit tricky for beginners. We introduce GMB in terms of maximizing utilization, and if it is difficult and late to give, you can do it later.

If you have your own website (shopping mall, homepage, blog), refer to the post below and enter the URL (eg www.copy114.kr/?utm_source=local&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=gmb) including the UTM parameter (code). How many users in Google Analytics actually came to the website displayed in google my business through general local searches (searches through search portals such as Google, Naver, and the following) and how they use the website (which pages were viewed and how many See if a page was viewed, what action was taken, whether a purchase was made, etc.), and this gives you marketing insights.
If you have a website, please link the menu to something like “https://hankkica.com/menu/”.
In Korea, this is an important function that can be linked to ordering sites such as Yogiyo and Baedal Minjok. Of course, after creating your own shopping mall, please connect it to your own shopping mall to save transaction fees such as Yogiyo and Baedal Minjok.
If you have a website, please link the booking link to https://hankkica.com/contact/.

Please add as many attributes as possible.
According to How to Optimize Your Google My Business Description, I am not sure if Google takes into account the company [Description] in the information regarding ranking factors. Searching can be a good thing when a searcher finds a word in your description. Business descriptions allow up to 750 characters, but only 250 characters appear in the knowledge panel. Therefore, you should write your business description carefully and place the most important information and keywords (including city) before the description. At least it does not adversely affect search engine optimization, so it is better to write as many as possible.
Remember only 750 characters to include all characters. The same care should be taken when writing your GMB business description as you carefully write the meta title and description tags for your website due to the character limit. Only 250 characters will appear in the knowledge panel and people will have to click to see the full description.
If you click ‘Apply’ after inserting the GMB comment, you have to wait 3 days for Google to review and approve the comment. After this, check the Google My Business listings to see if your description has been published. If not approved, double-check that you are following the Google My Business guidelines. If no description is displayed You can visit the Google My Business forum to post your details and someone in the forum can help.
For English-speaking countries, on desktop computers, the description is displayed at the bottom of the company’s knowledge panel.
For Korea, it is displayed below the review at the bottom. The location can be downplayed because the location is at the bottom, but in Korea, there are few business owners who register the location of their business as My Business, so the description itself is often not included. For example, a business that has only registered a business name will not be exposed when searching for a restaurant without the word restaurant in the review, but if you include the word restaurant in the description, it is more likely to be exposed in search engines.
On mobile devices, people should be able to see your business description by selecting the ‘About’ tab.
Looking at the Insight, I’m a little confused about what impressions and searches mean.
The number of impressions (Views) is the number shown when the searcher did not intend to search.
Here’s a detailed explanation of what the statistics mean:
How customers find your business
Number of searches (customers )that found your business information by searching categories, products, or services on Google Search or Google Maps
Number of searches (customers) who found your business information by searching for a business name or address on Google Search or Google Maps
Number of searches that found a business listing on Google Search or Google Maps for brands related to your business.
The Google products customers use to search for your business
Numbers listed (exposed) of locations (locations) on Google Maps (www.google.com/maps/)
Numbers that are listed (exposed) by location (location, business system) on Google (www.google.com)
In Google (www.google.com), there are mainly four categories: Google local information (Google Maps) search results, general organic search (webpage) results, video search results, and image search results. For display purposes, except for general organic search (webpage) results, only three categories are shown. Since only three Google local information (Google Maps) search results are also shown, being exposed here means being ranked in the top 3 in Google Maps (Google Finder, to be exact) searches, so it is an encouraging search result.
The number of times customers have visited your business’ sites in Google Places.
Phone call actions
Number of calls from customers to businesses listed in Google Places
Number of customers requesting routes to visit your business
The above customer response number is the measured minimum value among off-line customer actions performed on Google phones (Android phones). (The number of customers viewing photos or viewing comments will be much higher, and there will be many more visits without phone calls or route requests, but we cannot confirm.)
In this part, one of the products, menus, or services may be displayed, or two may be displayed overlapping depending on the category where the business belongs. Just enter the name and price of the product, menu, or service.
You can register products to be sold by selecting [Products].
You can set collections corresponding to images, prices, and major categories, and gif files cannot be uploaded and cannot be registered if there is no product image. [Add button] such as online order, purchase, learn more, and save coupon can be linked if there is an independent website or if the product is posted on a website provided by GMB.
The product is displayed in the pink area in the lower right corner. Since the screen is small on a smartphone, you must select [Product] to view it. Collections, which are broad categories of products, are indicated in the blue area.
Messaging is the most powerful ranking factor for Google My Business (GMB), along with websites, routes, saves, calls, and reviews. Please activate and utilize it to increase the search ranking of your company/your business.
Messaging starts to activate if you accept when Google prompts you to use Messaging frequently in Google My Business (GMB).
Users (consumers) can use the [Ask a Question] button as shown below.
When a user (consumer) asks a question, a message is sent to the owner’s or manager’s mobile phone. (GMB app must be installed on the mobile phone.)
When viewing in GMB, you can check it in [Message]. Please answer me. This is especially useful in the packaging and delivery industries. (You may receive inquiries from users (consumers) who are reluctant to receive voice consultations, such as selling wigs.
The image below is a captured image of a message from a customer to Hankki (17th Ave), a catering companythat delivers on our behalf, in Canada. Please refer to GMB owners and administrators. Of course, as of May 12, 2021, the service is also available in Korea, but the amount of usage is small because the user (consumer) is not known.
Those who do not yet have their own/own site (homepage, shopping mall) can use the website provided by Google. The website address is in the same format as http://copier1.business.site, and the copier1 part is a customized address that can reflect the company name and brand. After creating your own/own site (homepage, shopping mall), you can stop posting or change the custom address itself later in the [Settings] section.
If you select [Website], a preview is provided as shown below, and you can change it by adding themes, text, and photos. It’s not very scalable (you can’t create multiple pages), so it’s not enough to use as a website or shopping mall. It is a responsive website that is useful for companies or individuals who do not yet have a website/shopping mall and works well on mobile. (Note: It can also be used as a landing page for Express, a type of Google advertisement for local small business owners, but in the case of Google Express, the CPC is the same as google ads and the local targeting is too wide, so the cost-effectiveness to execute advertisements is quite low. )
There is a way to check the performance of this website (provided by Google My Business).
If you select i, statistics about “visitors, hits, route requests, and phone calls” are displayed as shown below, which is different from the statistics on the Google My Business ( GMB ) admin page, and the performance at http://example.business.site. If the results are good here, running this website well will also be of great help to your marketing.
When owners add users, they can share business information management rights with multiple users without sharing passwords. (Google Groups cannot be added as admins or owners of business listings.)

On the Google My Business dashboard, select [Users] at the bottom of the left menu.
You can add a new user by clicking the blue square in the upper right corner.
The new user has three roles: owner, manager, and sales floor manager. There can be more than one owner, with the one who registers first becomes the ‘primary owner’ and the one who registers later becomes the ‘owner’. There may also be co-representatives, allowing for multiple owners.
I can add new users by name or email address, but it seems to be gmail only. If you send a user acceptance request to the company email like email@example.com, an error occurs.
After accepting, you can see that you have been registered as an administrator.
8. Ad text writing
If you select [Create Ad Text], you can go to Google AdWords Express to advertise.
3. Completion of Google Local Searches, Google My Business posts: [Learn more], [Reservation], [Sign up], [Purchase], [Save coupon] buttons can be added
If you register a post in Google My Business, you can add [Learn more], [Reserve], [Sign up], [Purchase], and [Save coupon] buttons to the post. If you send a link from this button to your site, you can become a really great call to action (CTA) and increase traffic to your (your own) site.
If you click the [Buy] button, you can go to the relevant shopping mall page and make a purchase. There is also an event function, so find out more.
If you click on a picture or description, the detailed description below is displayed to the searcher (prospect customer).
How to post on Google My Business
Log in> with your Google account (gmail account) – Menu -> After [More]
->Please go to [My Business] (If you do not log in, you will not see My Business.)
If you have multiple business establishments and you have already registered them, select the business establishment where you want to post your posts.
If you use [Create Post], you can post a new post.
You can view and edit previously posted posts by using [View News].
When linking to a YouTube video, only the URL of the company’s (your own) site for which ownership is recognized is possible, but [Buy] in this post has no restrictions on linking a link to a third party’s site other than the company’s (own) site.
Buttons that can be added to posts are [Learn more], [Reservation], [Sign up], [Purchase], and [Save coupon]. However, this post (former, post) will be deleted 7 days after it was first posted. So I was very disappointed that I couldn’t see the posts I was looking for, but the reason is that 7 days have passed.
Screenshot captured by Brodie Clark of optimising.com.au, email notification sent by Google to inform businesses that Google Posts are about to expire)
The exception to this rule is Google Posts based on upcoming events. Event-based Google Posts will be removed after the event date, so you can lengthen the event duration.
Turn on (enable) the [Make a post an event] radio button. Set the event title, start date, start time, end date, and end time
There is one more exception, to ensure the timeliness of the post, 7 days (or after the event date of the referenced post) it is deleted from the default view on PC, but on mobile (smartphone, tablet PC) 7 days or the event date expires Posts will still be displayed.
Share a post (old, post)
You can share posts through the [Share News] button.
You can share it on Facebook, Twitter, or email. If you have a lot of addresses in your gmail address book, it might be a good idea to use email.
From a search engine optimization (SEO) point of view, the meaning of “share a post (phrase, post)”: The post sharing function is the ultimate ultimate move of GMB SEO. A Google post (psot) is an element that exposes the business site to the top on Google Maps (local information), and as a post on the simple website provided by GMB, it also plays a role in raising the ranking of the simple website provided by GMB.
This part could be too professional. If you are looking at the GMB outline, please pass.

Businesses (locations, businesses) that have completed GMB certification have a unique URL, whether based on coordinates or based on address. Without a unique URL, it is not possible to match specific location information (business information, business information), so naturally there is a unique URL. (We’ll call this “GMB Unique URL” for convenience :A)
A unique URL is expressed as a name and latitude and longitude coordinates.
/map/place/ This is the location directory path in Google Maps.
Daekwang Resources(대광자원) corresponds to the trade name.
@35.0311968,126.5476767 is the latitude and longitude coordinates of the business.
d35.0311968!4d126.5498654 is the latitude and longitude coordinates of the business.
The above GMB unique URL has the disadvantage that it is too long. So we need to shorten this to make it easier for customers to find the location. In GMB, this is called a profile (nickname). See Creating a Business Nickname (Custom Name) and URL (Custom URL) for more information. (I’ll call this “GMB shortened URL” for convenience :B)
A and B are the same URL, just the difference between shortening it or not.
In addition, if you create a simple websiteas described in “5. Website” on how to use GMB above, you can put your domain (abc) in the form of a sub-domain in front of business.site, which is a free website address provided by Google. https://abc.business This will create a URL like .site . (For convenience, we will refer to this as “GMB-provided simple website URL” :C)
When you create a post in Google My Business, URLs such as https://posts.gle/Y36LZ, https://posts.gle/CKzcc, etc. are created. (I’ll call this “GMB post URL” for convenience :D)
GMB post is shown as below on Google Maps.
Then, a post is automatically created under the posts subdirectory of the GMB-provided simple website URL in C.
The post sharing function is the ultimate ultimate move of GMB SEO.
The C by itself appears in Google search results. I posted a post on Google My Business, and it is surprising that an off-line store is shown as a search result in a Google general (natural) search just like a website (homepage, shopping mall, blog, cafe).
The image below is a search result of https://recyclingno1.business.site/posts/3992222699823620244?hl=ko when you search for “waste wire, work iron, copper, new liquor, stainless handling. Waste collection and transport permission company.” It is a captured image of what is displayed in .
A post is the content of A=B, C, and has the ability to share on Facebook and Twitter, which means getting a backlink from social (Facebook, Twitter) to A=B or C.
The importance of backlinks you get from social media to boost the ranking of your business (location, business) is crucial.
